Sister Maureen Langton, C.S.J. was honored during the Society Annual Christmas dinner on December 11, 2011. Monica Niemira, president of the St. Louis Catholic Deaf Society presented her with a plaque, the "Reverend Raymond D. Gruenke, C.Ss.R. Memorial Award," for her outstanding ministerial services in St. Louis, MO. Her accomplishments include:
- Houseparent and playground supervisor at St. Joseph Institute, St. Louis, MO (1968-1969)
- Coordinator of Learning Center, St. Joseph Institute, St. Louis, MO (1974-1976)
- Catechetical instructor for public school Catholic Deaf children, Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO (1974-1975)
- Teacher of the Deaf & Coordinator of the Upper School Department, St. Joseph Institute (first Deaf person to do it in this school) (1976-1980)
- Founder & Executive Director, Home Care Services Program for the local Deaf elderly & shut-in people, St. Louis, MO (2004-2009)
- Continues to do volunteer work in Home Care Services Program when available (2009 to present)
- Did the First Readings and Communion Ministry at the Deaf Mass between 2003 and 2010
- Member of St. Louis Catholic Deaf Society since 2003
- Life member (#1777) of International Catholic Deaf Association
